Vice President for Student Belonging, Chief Diversity Officer

Keith Hall is a Middle Tennessee native who started his higher education career in 2001 and joined APU in 2012. As vice president for student belonging and chief diversity officer at Azusa Pacific, Keith is a member of President’s Cabinet and provides strategic leadership and oversight of the Athletics Department, the Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and Student Affairs.

Hall also leads ongoing efforts to further cultivate a university culture and climate that enable the diverse demography of faculty, staff, and students at APU to thrive and experience belonging. To accomplish this goal, Keith is committed to working collaboratively with administrative, curricular, cocurricular, and student leaders to employ strategic initiatives that enrich the holistic experience of all students across the university system.

Prior to moving to Southern California, Keith was a psychology instructor at Tennessee State University and director of multicultural affairs at Lipscomb University. He earned a BS in Psychology at Middle Tennessee State University, an MS in Counseling Psychology at Tennessee State University, and an EdD in Organizational Leadership at Pepperdine University.

Program Coordinator, Student Center for Reconciliation and Diversity

Mutoni is passionate about supporting and advocating for underrepresented students, and finds fulfillment in developing students into leaders and encouraging them to discover and cultivate their strengths. She believes that every student should be considered. Previously, she worked as a transfer admissions representative at APU, where she honed her skills in advocating for students by educating them on financial aid and scholarship options. Mutoni’s joy comes from serving students and helping them find their path in higher education. Prior to APU, she was a college adviser at USC College Advising Corps, promoting a college-going culture at Renaissance High School for the Arts in Long Beach, California. Mutoni recently completed a Master of Science in College Counseling and Student Development at APU. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from California State University, Long Beach.

Executive Director, Military and Veteran Services

Everette Brooks responsible for the advancement of services to military-connected and veteran students throughout the APU system. Everette is charged with assessing current student support structures and services and with launching new initiatives in APU’s efforts to build community with and strengthen services to student veterans, Reserve Officer Training Corps cadets, active-duty personnel, Reserve/National Guard members, and all military-connected family members.

During his 12 years in the United States Army, Everette served in a variety of positions that utilized his gifts and skills to assist in creating and implementing a safe environment for military personnel and their families. Everette served our country at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe in Mons, Belgium, for six years; at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, San Diego, for four years; and with the United States Army Veterinary Command at West Point, New York, for two years. Everette holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Park University and an MBA in International Business from Long Island University. He also holds the designation of Certified Professional - Food Safety (CP-FS) from the National Environmental Health Association.

Diversity Council

This Faculty Senate council affirms and values the nature of diversity and promotes the establishment and further support of university education policies, practices, and programs related to the understanding and appreciation of diversity from a biblical viewpoint. It represents the academic arena and extended community of the university in matters pertaining to diversity and community demographic balance.
