Acceptance Information

What to expect:

  1. Students applying for Early Action will be notified of their admission status after January 15. Applicants for Regular Admission and those not offered admission through Early Action may receive notification after February 1. Regular Admission notification letters will be mailed two weeks after admission files are completed and reviewed by the Admissions Committee.
  2. Upon your acceptance, housing information, financial aid information, and a deposit request will be mailed to you. May 1 is the deadline for the housing ($250) and tuition ($300) deposit.
  3. A financial aid assessment will be made once you are accepted for admission and have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Financial aid awards are traditionally granted in the late spring to fall applicants. Students accepted into the university may contact the Office of Student Financial Services at (626) 812-3009 or sfs@apu.edu; or your admissions counselor with any questions.
  4. Applicants for the fall semester may expect to receive the university's bi-monthly newsletter from January-August. This will introduce you to APU's programs, people, and activities, as well as give you pertinent information regarding deadlines.
  5. Anticipate a phone call from the undergraduate admissions staff. Also, feel free to call a counselor anytime at (626) 812-3016 or (800) TALK-APU.
  6. Orientation materials will be sent to you and your parents one month before the semester begins.
