Q & A with Creighton...
- How has APU transformed you?
-
Here’s the before and after picture:
Before coming to APU, I was primarily focused on myself, my dreams, my popularity, my appearance, my checking account…pretty much only caring about my will.
After coming to APU, I’ve grown into a socially-conscience, spiritually-aware, and outwardly-focused servant of others. Now I’m seeking to live out His will. Through APU, God taught me how to be a man, a scholar, a philosopher, and His child. - What activities at APU have you most enjoyed being a part of?
- I enjoyed this school way too much, and was involved in a lot of stuff. Theater productions, music groups, missions trips abroad – these things all top the list. My most memorable moments, however, are probably those unplanned, unorganized, late-night/early-morning “activities” with the raddest people I’ll ever come to know. The students, the professors, the campus pastors, and the president – they’ll rock your face off!
- What advice would you give to prospective students?
-
First, visit schools! You’ve got to be able to picture
yourself on campus, sitting in those classrooms, eating at those
tables, sleeping in the dorms. On paper, a school might look great,
but in reality it just might not be the best fit for you.
Second, follow your heart. Your parents will almost always offer you good advice with the most genuine motives. Your teachers generally offer descent advice, but sometimes rely on outdated concepts or opinions. Your friends will most commonly offer hear-say or complete conjecture, so take their advice with a big grain of salt. The only person’s opinion you can completely trust is your own. This is your future, so welcome to it! - How do you spend your free time?
- I’m a huge movie nut, so you can usually catch me at the local AMC with a big tub of excessively buttered popcorn at least once on any given weekend. Hiking in the mornings, beach-going in the evenings, and plotting the next big scheme to take over the world are just a few more ways I cast away the hours.
