Q & A with John...
- How has APU transformed you?
- APU completely changed the way I view the world and the people that occupy it. Being here really opened my eyes to the fact that each and every person has been uniquely created in the image of God. I began to love and embrace the fact that each person is unique instead of fearing differences. I saw exponential spiritual growth in my own life through the challenges I faced on a daily basis. Through innumerable conversations with friends, professors, mentors, and campus pastors, APU really helped me understand more of what it means to be a man of God.
- Which activities at APU have you most enjoyed being a part of?
- Intramural sports were always some of my favorite activities while I was a student at APU, whether I was participating or cheering on friends from the sideline. Studying in Austria on the School of Business and Management’s Europe Summer Program was definitely one of the most life-changing experiences. In the end, it was the friends, classmates, professors, and complete strangers I met along the way that made my experiences so amazing.
- What advice would you give to prospective students?
- Go on a study abroad trip! College years are the best time to get out and see the world, and APU makes it easy. There are numerous places and programs to choose from. Studying in another country will open your eyes in numerous ways and change the way you view this world. Best of all, you will meet so many amazing people and catalog countless tales of adventure.
- How do you spend your free time?
- I love snowboarding and traveling, and I do my best to combine the two as much as possible. When the weather is warmer, I enjoy playing or watching a number of different sports including baseball, ice hockey, football, and racquetball. I also enjoy an occasional skate session at the local skate park or an evening bicycle cruise through the streets of Glendora.
