Q & A with Jackson...

How has APU transformed you?
Spiritually, socially, emotionally, academically, and culturally; I cannot imagine another university that would have been able to transform my worldview in the way this place has. APU teaches what it looks like to love practically in the midst of anything you could possibly encounter.
What activities at APU have you most enjoyed being a part of?
I have enjoyed being part of every activity, group, or event that brings people together in different ways. Some of those activities include: The High Life Club, Fake Life Retreats, Pool Club, being an Alpha Leader and a Strengths Counselor, and going crazy in the Blackout section at all APU sporting events.
What advice would you give to prospective students?
Visit any campus that you are considering. Find a place where you feel comfortable being real and authentic with people, but more importantly, a place where people do the same with you. Listen to your parents; believe it or not they might have good advice about picking a school. Visit APU; this is an amazingly genuine place full of opportunity to grow. And while you’re here, take your counselor some cookies.
How do you spend your free time?
I spend my free time basically doing two things: sports and cooking. I love sports and will play, watch, or talk about any sport at any time, especially the San Diego Padres, San Diego Chargers, Los Angeles Lakers, Premiership Soccer, and of course, the APU Cougars. If you find me doing something not related to sports, it’s probably because I am watching the Food Network, barbequing, grilling (yes, they are different), or cooking something for myself, my girlfriend Melissa, or my roommates.
