Q & A with Tiffanie...
- How has APU transformed you?
- There are so many defining moments in my APU experience—I cannot begin to share them all! From the moment I set foot on APU’s campus, I knew it was the school for me. My first year, I immediately saw room to pursue my passion for teaching and promoting cultural appreciation. I developed a greater sense of purpose through my leadership positions in the Office of Service Learning and Research and the Office of Multi Ethnic Programs. Every experience increased my capacity to help others. Overall, I learned patience through relationships and gained peace about God’s plan for my life.
- Which activities at APU have you most enjoyed being a part of?
- I loved being a member of our women’s step team, Umoja! I also participated in many cultural events, such as Gospel Sing. My senior year, I was privileged to be president of one of our ethnic organizations called Black Student Awareness. As recipient of the Multi-Ethnic Leader Scholarship, I was a part of many challenging and beneficial campus discussions.
- What advice would you give to prospective students?
- There is so much to learn and experience in life. Don't limit yourself. Take advantage of every minute!
- How do you spend your free time?
- Family and friends are dear to me. I enjoy spending time with them. I also like to sketch, paint, and sculpt...anything that allows me to be creative.
