Financial Aid

Many students who initially thought that they could not afford to attend APU are attending today – thanks to the help they received from financial aid. In fact, approximately 85 percent of APU students receive some form of financial assistance.

Financial assistance can help make your APU education affordable. If you are an academic achiever; have musical, theatrical, or forensics talent; or athletic abilities, institutional aid may be available to you. In addition, state and federal aid is available in the form of grants, loans, and employment.

If you feel called to accept the APU challenge and commitment, the undergraduate admissions team will work with you to help determine what aid you qualify for and assemble an aid package. Scholarships in the private sector can be found in a number of places, including websites such as www.fastweb.com/.

Applying for Financial Aid

Fill out and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). To avoid missing priority deadlines by which grant money is awarded, we recommend families estimate their income from the previous year rather than waiting to file their income tax before submitting the FAFSA. Changes may be made later if necessary. Plan to submit your form during the first week of January.
Complete the Institutional Aid Application (IAA) and submit it to the Office of Student Financial Services.
California residents seeking to qualify for a Cal Grant must complete the GPA verification form and FAFSA prior to March 2.
