In the beginning of my career at APU, I was drawn in by the university’s motto, God First. This motto has unceasingly motivated and encouraged me to love the school’s mission for Kingdom ministry. I’ve found for those of us at APU, whether we teach, serve, study, or support—be it at a local, national, or international level—we all strive for God First excellence in our Christian life. I pray that God’s name will be abundantly honored and glorified through me and the rest of the Advancement Team’s ministry.
In 1997, John began his teaching career as assistant professor in theology and ethics at APU, soon becoming the Asian Program director in the School of Theology. In 2001, he instituted the university’s Los Angeles Regional Center. After working as executive director for six years, he was asked to serve as special assistant to the president. He is also a scholar in 18th and 19th century German theology and ethics. View John’s curriculum vitae.
