Calculating your GPA

Your GPA is one indicator of how well you are performing academically. Knowing how to calculate your GPA can be helpful in keeping you on track with your course work.

The following worksheet allows you to calculate your GPA in two basic steps.

Step #1: Calculate Your Units Attempted and Grade Point Total

A = 4.0   B- = 2.7   D+ = 1.3
A- = 3.7   C+ = 2.3   D = 1.0
B+ = 3.3   C = 2.0   D- = 0.7
B = 3.0   C- = 1.7   F = 0.0

Note: All other grades (W, IN, FN, I, NC, CR, P, NG, AU, IP, NR) are not computed in the GPA.

Step #2: Calculate Your Grade Point Average

Grade Point Total divided by Number of Units attempted:
