Cougar Blackout
Blackout originated with a group of students at an APU vs. Biola basketball game who coordinated to wear one color: black.
Once the tradition caught on, it wasn’t just wearing the same colored shirts, but painting cougar claws on faces, holding up signs and noise makers, and much more. Coming together in one section known as the Blackout Zone, students cheer on our athletes as well as promote community and Cougar spirit. Blackout is more than just a tradition, it is a bond shared between generations of APU students.
