Meet the Alumni Relations Team

Craig Wallace
Executive Director

For the past 13 years, I've been serving APU as the director of alumni relations. I am a 1981 graduate of APU. My wife, Linda (Roll '87), and I have two boys: Tommy, 12, and Nick, 11. We live in Claremont, where Linda is a kindergarten teacher at Sumner Elementary School. When I'm not out on the road visiting many of you, I spend my time with my amazing wife, coaching my sons' baseball teams, playing golf, and teaching Sunday school at our church. I feel I've got the best job at APU because I get to visit with many of you and see how God is using you to further His Kingdom.

My wife, Heather, and I live in Alta Loma. Heather works for San Antonio Community Hospital as a physical therapist assistant. I am a 1983 alumnus of APU and went on to receive my M.Div. from Asbury Theological Seminary in 1988. I completed my Master of Arts in Human and Organizational Development through APU's School of Business and Management in 2003. I have been on staff at APU since 1990, working in various positions: director of the Institute for Outreach Ministries for nine years; assistant director of the Office of University Advancement for a year; and I came to the Office of Alumni Relations in February of 2001. I am an ordained elder in the American Baptist Church and serve as a reserve chaplain in the United States Air Force. I have four daughters: Jackie, Jessica, Jennifer, and Makenna; and a son, Connor.

It is truly amazing to work in the alumni office and have the opportunity to connect with alumni across the globe. From teachers and pastors, members of the armed forces and business professionals, nurses, and more, our alumni are serving in amazing settings, bringing the light of Christ to our world. Share your stories with us – we want to hear from you! Come visit the campus – if it’s been a while, drop by for a campus tour and go to chapel or a class! Send us your students – alumni are our best recruiters for undergraduate, degree-completion, and graduate programs. Pray for us and let us pray for you. As APU continues to grow, we remain centered upon God First and our cornerstones of Christ, Community, Service, and Scholarship. Hope to see you soon on campus or at an alumni gathering.

I came to the alumni office as the graduate assistant in August of 2004 and moved into a full-time staff position March 2005. I received my Master of Education in College Student Affairs from APU in May 2007. I am overjoyed to be part of APU’s community and hope to serve all alumni, students, staff, and faculty.

My wife, Lori, and I got married in January 2005 and live in Azusa. Both Lori and I graduated from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 2003. Lori is a registered nurse and works for City of Hope Hospital in Duarte, CA, with children who have cancer. She is currently working on her master of nursing to be a pediatric nurse practioner.

I support the alumni team by planning and executing programming and events including: Homecoming, Alumni Chapter events, Dinner Theater, class reunions, Young Alumni Programs, and the BLACKOUT Student Alumni Association. In addition, I oversee the Alumni Cougars' Den website, supervise student interns, and work closely with other APU offices to ensure our connection and involvement in the lives of current and future Azusa Pacific alumni.

I ensure that alumni, students, and visitors have a pleasant experience when contacting the Office of Alumni Relations, and also help find answers to their questions. I assist the alumni staff with events and projects and run the daily operations of the alumni office.

I have had the amazing opportunity to be part of Azusa Pacific University for the past 4 years. My husband Jim and I have two children: Whitney, 15, and Jacob, 12. Prior to APU, we served on staff at New Life Foursquare Church in Canby, Oregon as youth pastors for 10 years. We recently planted Claremont Foursquare Church and enjoy being pastors of an amazing congregation. I am excited to be in the alumni office and serving alumni.
