Attention students, faculty, and staff, as well as alumni and members of the business community:

Azusa Pacific University announces the Economic Summit 2007, hosted by the Scholars for Business Achievement in association with the School of Business and Management.

The first annual summit will be held on Thursday, November 8, at 10 a.m., in Upper Turner Campus Center on East Campus.

The all-day event will begin with a welcome address, followed by presentations and discussions about current events in economics, politics, and foreign affairs throughout the afternoon and early evening.

Sir Patrick Duffy, currently a guest lecturer at APU, will present the keynote address on the “Future Relationship between the U.S. and China.”

The summit is open to everyone and free of charge. If you would like to attend, please RSVP by October 29 at (626) 815-6000, Ext. 3787.

  • Lunch, 12:15 p.m.

  • "Conversative Principles and Current Events," 2 p.m., by Becky Norton Dunlop, vice president of the Heritage Foundation

  • "The Joy of Economic Freedom," 3:15 p.m., by David Henderson, Ph.D., research fellow at the Hoover Institute

  • "Faith, Freedom, and the Market," 4:15 p.m., by Richard Ebeling, Ph.D., president of the Foundation for Economic Education

  • "Collectivism in Practice: The Soviet Tragedy," 5:15 p.m., by Anna Ebeling, Ph.D., director of research for the Foundation for Economic Freedom
