World Vision AIDS Experience Tent November 7, 2007 From November 12-16, APU has joined with World Vision to allow the community to respond to the AIDS crisis in Africa through the World Vision AIDS Experience Tent. Located on Trinity Lawn on APU's East Campus, the interactive experience takes participants through a 25-minute journey, allowing them to step into the life of a child in Africa who has been affected by AIDS. The journey begins at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 12, and lasts until Friday November 16 at 1 p.m. The tent will close each night at 10 p.m. On November 12, a premier event including food, a drum circle, and several speakers will commence at 7 p.m. Through the AIDS Experience Tent, World Vision hopes to bring about awareness of the AIDS crisis and to spark passion for Africa. After their experience, participants will have opportunities to take immediate action through child sponsorship, various ways to contribute to an African community, and even opportunities to go to Africa. Due to the graphic nature of the presentation of the AIDS crisis, viewer discretion is advised. |
