Life Celebration Service for Joe Snell September 7, 2009 Azusa Pacific University experienced a sad loss in August when Joe Snell, director of Multi-Ethnic Programs, suddenly passed away. In honor of the life of our colleague, the university will hold a memorial service on Tuesday, September 15, at 7 p.m. in Upper Turner Campus Center (UTCC) on East Campus. In his two years at APU, Joe made a tremendous impact on our campus community. An outstanding director of Multi-Ethnic Programs and champion for racial reconciliation, he was loved by students and colleagues alike. He was committed to investing in the development of student leaders and encouraged the sponsorship of programs that increase awareness and appreciation for ethnic diversity. He had a passion for bringing about unity and has left behind a legacy with those who had the honor of knowing him.
Prior to his time at APU, Joe served in a similar capacity at Seattle Pacific University for eight years. With a background in church planting and pastoral ministry, Joe was a consistent voice for reconciliation throughout his life and ministry, and his influence has had a wide impact throughout the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU).
