Introducing the James L. Hedges Distinguished Lecture Series

Azusa Pacific University's Department of English welcomes professor emeritus James Hedges, Ph.D., as the first speaker in the newly established James L. Hedges Distinguished Lecture Series. Hedges will present a lecture on "My Life in Books: A Hopeful Journey."

When: Thursday, October 1, at 5 p.m.

Where: Azusa Pacific University Munson Chapel, East Campus, 901 E. Alosta Ave., Azusa

The lecture series is free and open to the public.

The James L. Hedges Distinguished Lecture Series exists to celebrate the written word through a series of endowed lectures by writers and literary critics of national stature. The lecture series honors one of APU's finest professors, James L. Hedges, professor of English from 1974-2005.

Hedges was chair of the Department of English and the Chase A. Sawtell Inspirational Teacher of the year in 2001. He also served as director of the Azusa Oxford Semester. This annual lecture series is held in appreciation for his many years if commitment and contribution to APU.
