Rose Murillo has more than 16 years of human resources experience at both publicly and privately held companies including The Gillette Company, Trader Joe’s, and The Los Angeles Mission, which is in the nonprofit sector. Her professional experience has included all phases of HR and safety functions, from strategy development to day-to-day administration, including labor relations, EEO, AAP, ISO, and SOX compliance. She is currently a regional HR manager for Durham School Services.

Murillo has served on the Employee Health, Safety, & Security Panel of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). She was appointed to the panel by SHRM's board of directors. Here, Murillo reports emerging trends, provides expert advice, and gives guidance on public policy. In addition, she volunteers for SHRM’s academic initiatives and has contributed as an item writer and editor for SHRM’s Assurance of Learning exam.

Murillo has tremendous respect and admiration for working students, having been one herself, trying to find time to successfully balance family, work, and education. She is committed to supporting students in achieving their goals.
