Stephanie Fenwick, M.A.Ed., began her journey as an adult learner in an undergraduate degree completion business program. Her learning experiences led to her transition from the world of nonprofit business administration to the School for Adult and Professional Studies (APS) at Azusa Pacific University. Now in her seventh year of prior learning assessment, she has taught over 2,000 students how to create portfolios of prior learning, including the writing of experiential essays for academic credit. Fenwick is certified at the mastery level for CAEL certification of prior learning assessment counselors. She has been instrumental in the design and implementation of faculty workshops discussing adult learners and has presented nationally on such topics as social and contemporary goals in adult education, successful degree completion programs, and prior learning assessment. She is currently seeking her Ph.D. in Human Development with a concentration in Transformative Learning and Social Justice from Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, California.
