What You'll Learn

Organizations from a variety of fields must gather, store, and transmit information electronically to function successfully. Information security professionals must be prepared not only to meet the basic security needs of these businesses, but also to identify and implement plans that are tailored to their size, structure, and market. APU’s cyber security degree gives today’s information technology professionals the opportunity to strengthen their current IT skills as well as broaden their understanding of industry trends.

Program topics include operating systems, database systems, data communications, network security, computer forensics, software security, networking fundamentals, Internet programming, Web XML applications, and an Information Security Capstone Project.

Online Format

The Online B.S. in Information Security program allows students to take advantage of the convenience of online learning without sacrificing the quality of instruction or professor-student interaction. With a rigorous curriculum and the same cohort model that has been so successful in many of our on-campus programs, students can be confident they are receiving the same quality degree.

Convenient Schedule

Courses are taught sequentially and the accelerated format means new courses begin every eight weeks. Students find that the rich diversity of experiences that their peers bring to the interactive online environment results in lively discussions involving shared experiences.
