AZUSA, Calif. -- The field and bracket for the 2014 National Collegiate Acrobatics and Tumbling Association (NCATA) National Championships have been announced, and tournament host Azusa Pacific is seeded second in the nine-team bracket.

The championships begin on Thursday, April 24, with a 1 p.m. (Pacific) first-round meet between eighth-seeded Alderson-Broaddus and ninth-seeded King University, which are both in their first year of NCATA competition. That opening matchup will be followed by the 5 p.m. national individual event finals, featuring competitors from all NCATA championship participants.

The eight remaining teams will be in action for Friday’s quarterfinal round, starting with a 12:45 p.m. clash between fourth-seeded Baylor and fifth-seeded Fairmont State. Top-seeded and three-time defending NCATA national champion Oregon begins its title defense with a 3 p.m. matchup against Thursday’s first-round winner, and second-seeded Azusa Pacific hosts the first-year program from Gannon (Pa.) University at 7:30 p.m. Third-seeded Quinnipiac takes on Hawai‘i Pacific in the 5:15 p.m. matchup.

Semifinal meets are scheduled for 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, with semifinal winners returning to compete for the NCATA National Championship at 7:30 p.m. Saturday night.
