Sheppard Earns GSAC Player of the Week

AZUSA, Calif. -- Azusa Pacific goalkeeper Sammi Sheppard has been named the GSAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for her performance in the Cougars' 3-0 win against NCAA Division II No. 24-ranked Cal State Dominguez Hills last Tuesday.
This is the second shutout of the season for the junior goalkeeper, who saved all 4 shots on goal in the victory. The NAIA's No. 2-ranked Cougars have a 4-0 record as they head to Cleveland, Tenn., to face No. 14-ranked Savannah Art & Design (Ga.) and No. 3-ranked Lee (Tenn.) September 19-20.
