October 7, 2008

AZUSA, Calif. -- Azusa Pacific forward Theresa Broad has been named the Golden State Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Broad led the NAIA's No. 3-ranked Cougars to 2 wins last week over Fresno Pacific and  San Diego Christian that extended Azusa Pacific's program-record GSAC winning streak to 20 straight games.  With 6 goals in 2 games, the junior forward tied her single-game career best of 4 goals and posted her sixth career hat trick in the 5-1 win at San Diego Christian.  Earlier in the week, Broad registered 2 goals in the 6-0 victory over Fresno Pacific for the GSAC season home-opener.  The Cougar forward scored the first and game-winning goals in both GSAC games to carry  Azusa Pacific to a 7-1 overall season record.

The Cougars' next home game is Wed., Oct. 16, at 3:30 p.m. at the Cougar Soccer Complex against The Master's College.
