AZUSA, Calif. -- Azusa Pacific forward Bridget Brotherton has been named the Golden State Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for her efforts last week against fellow GSAC members Concordia University and Point Loma Nazarene.
After scoring the first goal of the game, the senior forward led the NAIA's No. 3-ranked Cougars from a 3-1 deficit in the second half to a 4-3 overtime victory at No. 24-ranked Concordia. In addition to her 2 regulation time goals, Brotherton also recorded her first career hat trick on a header for the winning goal in overtime play. Then on Saturday, Brotherton scored 1 goal and assisted the other 2 in the 3-0 win at home against Point Loma Nazarene.
With last week's games, Brotherton helped the Cougars maintain their first-place position in the GSAC with an 8-0 season record. This is the last week of conference play for the Cougars as they head to Hope International on Wednesday (3:00 p.m.) and play host to Vanguard on Saturday (2:00 p.m.).
