AZUSA, Calif. -- The Azusa Pacific soccer programs are boasting 2 Cougars that have been named GSAC players of the week for their efforts in last week's GSAC tournament games--midfielder Sarah Yoro (Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week) and goalkeeper James Crawford (Men's Defensive Player of the Week).

One minute into the first overtime period of the GSAC first-round contest against Point Loma Nazrene last Tuesday, senior midfielder Sarah Yoro scored the first and only goal of Azusa Pacific's 1-0 overtime victory.  Then on Friday Yoro sealed the deal with the final goal in a 3-0 win over The Master's in round 2 of the GSAC tournament.

For the men, senior goalkeeper James Crawford made 5 saves against California Baptist to secure the Cougar's 1-0 win in their fist-round GSAC tournament game last Wednesday. Crawford then added 2 more saves to his 177 career-record on Saturday in the 1-0 GSAC second-round victory over The Master's.

Both Cougar soccer programs will be competing for the GSAC Championship this weekend at the Cougar Soccer Complex.  The NAIA's No.5-ranked women's soccer will take on Concordia on Friday, Nov. 14, at 2 p.m. and the No. 7-ranked men will face off against Westmont the following day (Sat., Nov. 15) at 2 p.m.
