Football Game to Remain at Citrus
« Back to AnnouncementsAZUSA, Calif. -- Azusa Pacific officials have determined that Saturday's football game against the University of San Diego will retain its original time and site of play for 6:30 p.m. at Citrus Stadium in Glendora, Calif.
Smoke from the Station Fire has lingered throughout the San Gabriel Valley for the past week, which in turn created questions as to whether or not Saturday's game could be played in the San Gabriel Valley.
The Azusa Pacific athletic department's medical staff has been monitoring air quality maps and been in coversation with officials at the Air Quality Management District (AQMD). Azusa Pacific Director of Athletics Bill Odell in conjuction with university leaders deemed the game can continue as originally scheduled.
"We always keep the safety of our student-athletes at the forefront of our endevours, and for the past 3 days we've been studying the situation," said Odell. "From the information we've gathered and the conversations we've had with the AQMD, we believe it's appropriate to keep the game here."
