Azusa Pacific senior PK Ben Hansen has been named the NAIA Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance this past week.
In Saturday's 23-7 victory over NCAA Division III No. 16-ranked Wisconsin-Stevens Point, Hansen made 3 field goals of 17, 53 and 29 yards, capping 3 of the Cougars' first 4 possessions and leading Azusa Pacific to a 9-0 lead early in the second quarter. The 53-yarder is a career-best and is also the second furthest field goal in Cougar history (Brad Kramer made a 54-yarder vs. U.S. International in 1974). Hansen is currently second in the NAIA with 7 field goals made this season. For his career, he has made 30 field goals and is 7 away from Devon Jones (1978-81) school record 36 field goals made.
