For the second time this season, Cougar placekicker Ben Hansen has been named the NAIA's Special Teams Player of the Week.
Hansen, a 5-9, 170 lb., senior placekicker from Milpitas, Calif., scored 13 points in Azusa Pacific's 37-3 upset of the NAIA's No. 14-ranked Langston (Okla.) on Saturday. He made 3field goals, including a 52-yarder, the second-longest field goal of his career and the third longest in program history. He missed from 52 yards earlier in the game and later attempted to break the school record with a 56-yarder that he missed. He also made field goals from 25 and 32 yards.
With the 13 points, he moved past former NFL running back Christian Okoye and into second place on the school’s all-time scoring list with 207 points. He closes the season with 18 field goals made, the second highest single-season total in school history. The 18 field goals ranks first in the NAIA in addition to his field goals per game average (1.6).
