The Azusa Pacific tennis program has been named the winner of the Long Ellis Award for sportsmanship and achievement in 2009. This prestigious intercollegiate Southern California Tennis Association award is given in honor of Long Ellis, who started the Southern California Intercollegiate Championships where the Cougar tennis program was represented by several players in the 53rd annual tournament that was held in early November.

The award will be officially presented to Azusa Paific head coach Mark Bohren at the SCTA annual meeting on Monday, Feb. 8.
