Junior forward Alex Moore-Porter was named GSAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the first time this season after registering 52 points (26.0 ppg), 16 rebounds (8.0 rpg), 5 steals, 4 assists and a block in victories over Concordia and Westmont last week. She was nearly perfect from the free throw line, going 8-for-9 (.889), and she hit 4-of-8 (.500) from behind the 3-point arc.
Moore-Porter was 12-for-18 (.667) from the field against Concordia, including the game-tying 3-pointer and the go-ahead basket in the final minute. It was her third time reaching 30 points in a game this season, giving her 5 career 30-point games at Azusa Pacific. In the Cougars' 73-60 win over Westmont, Moore-Porter posted her fourth double-double of the season, scoring 22 points with 10 rebounds.
Moore-Porter is currently the GSAC's leading scorer in conference play, averaging 23.4 points per game. She currently ranks sixth in conference play at 7.4 rebounds per game and ranks second in the league in 3-point shooting with a .511 (24-for-47) percentage.
