Azusa Pacific senior 1B Brice Cutspec hit a game-tying solo HR in the bottom of the seventh in the second game of Saturday's Golden State Athletic Conference doubleheader against Fresno Pacific. Cutspec, the Azusa Pacific single-season and career HR record-holder, now has 73 career home runs, breaking the previous record of 72 held by Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) College's Steve Dover (1998-2001).

Azusa Pacific head coach Paul Svagdis has now coached the career home run leaders at 2 of the 4 levels of 4-year college baseball. During his 6-year coaching stint at NCAA Division III Pomona-Pitzer in Claremont, Calif., Svagdis coached the NCAA Division III career home run record holder Jose Cortez, who hit 70 home runs for the Sagehens from 2000-03 before he became a 14th-round pick of the Philadelphia Phillies in the 2003 MLB draft.
