HIGH SCHOOL: Was a 3-time All-Rio Hondo League infielder who started 4 varsity seasons for head coach Barry Bacon at Temple City High ... Led the Rams to 4 consecutive CIF playoff appearances, including 3 second-place Rio Hondo League finishes ... Earned Pasadena Star-News all-area recognition his final 3 seasons (2008 second team, 2009 honorable mention, 2010 first team) ... Was named to All-CIF second team as a 2010 senior, batting .458 (38-for-83) with 6 home runs, 13 doubles, 23 runs, and 19 RBIs ... Drew 15 walks with only 6 strikeouts and hit safely or walked 25 of 26 games, including a season-high 13-game hitting streak ... Committed only 2 errors, posting a .981 fielding percentage as Temple City's starting shortstop ...
