AZUSA, Calif.-- Azusa Pacific baseball head coach Paul Svagdis announced the addition of 2 non-conference home games to the Cougars’ 2009 schedule.

Azusa Pacific will host Chapman University, the 4-time defending NCAA Division III West Regional Champion, on Monday, Feb. 23, at 5:00 p.m. The programs last met in 2002 and the Panthers hold a 31-20 series edge over the Cougars.

On Tuesday, March 3, at 5:00 p.m., Azusa Pacific hosts the University of La Verne, also a NCAA Division III program and the defending SCIAC champion, setting up a meeting between the programs for the third straight season. With last year’s 5-2 win, Azusa Pacific tied the all-time series with La Verne at 46-46. The Cougars have won 8 of the past 9 meetings with the Leopards.
