Cougar Men’s Basketball Recruiting Information

Welcome to Azusa Pacific Men's Basketball, and thank you for your interest in becoming a Cougar.

  • Azusa Pacific University is an evangelical Christian liberal arts university with an undergraduate student body of over 5,000 students.
  • The university is located in Azusa, California, in the Los Angeles area, about 20 miles east of Pasadena against the San Gabriel Mountains.
  • APU plays competitive men's basketball in the NAIA, which has a national playoff system.
  • APU is a member of the Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) and has won the conference championship a record 13 times in the past 18 years.
  • APU has appeared in 9 of the last 11 GSAC Tournament Championship games, winning the conference tournament 7 times.
  • APU has appeared in the 32-team NAIA national tournament 18 times, including the past 16 in a row.
  • Five Cougar teams – the 1998, 1999, 2002, 2005, and 2010 squads – reached the NAIA Fab Four, playing in the national title game twice (2005, 2010).
  • More than 40 APU Basketball players have gone on to play professionally.

Junior college and 4-year college transfers, send a tape from your most recent playing opportunity. Please include your first and last name, the school for which you play, your jersey number and colors, positions played, and a phone number where you can be contacted. Please also include an unofficial transcript.

Recruiting

If you are interested in learning more about our university and basketball program, and attending a game, please contact us. You will gain exposure to the university and the men's basketball program, and have the opportunity for you and your family members to attend the game that evening.
