AZUSA, Calif. -- On October 12th and 13th the APU men’s basketball team got out of the gym to get involved in the community to impact others. The team did demolition work and helped with painting projects for House 2 Home, which is a ministry of Christ’s Church of the Valley in San Dimas.

House 2 Home reaches into the local community to help improve the living conditions of families in need. The organization’s goal is to share the love of Christ while turning run-down and unsafe houses into safe and loving homes. Most of the House 2 Home projects are for families in need or for people who are suffering from an illness or handicap.

“This was an amazing opportunity for our team to help and encourage the community that supports our team,” Cougar head coach Justin Leslie said. “This outreach project was a great experience for every one of our guys and not only did we give back but we also bonded as a team.”

Chris Crumley, director of outreach from Christ's Church of the Valley said, “Your team was part of our first-ever outreach into a school. We are hoping this can be a model for us reaching into other schools in the valley in the future.”
