AZUSA, Calif. -- Azusa Pacific men's basketball head coach Justin Leslie announced the signing of Petar Kutlesic, a 6-foot-8, 215-pound forward from Serbia who joins the Cougars from Lee Academy in Lee, Maine, to play collegiately this fall.

“While I’m certainly excited for the type of size Petar brings to our team, I’m even more excited for the level of skill he brings into our program,” Leslie said. “His ability to both pass and shoot for his size is a great combination that we’re excited to have.”

At Lee Academy last year, Kutlesic averaged 15.1 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game, helping Lee win the Sun Youth Christmas tournament in Montreal while earning all-tournament recognition last December.

Azusa Pacific posted a fourth-place finish in the Pacific West Conference last year, going 13-7 in conference play and 17-10 overall. The Cougars will travel to Costa Rica in August for an exhibition tour before opening the 2014-15 collegiate season in November.
