AZUSA, Calif.-- On Wednesday afternoon the Azusa Pacific women’s basketball team will open up the National Christian College Athletics Association championships against Emmanuel (Ga.) at Grace College in Winona Lake, Ind. The Cougars, who earned an automatic bid to the eight-team national tournament with a West Region championship win over Point Loma on March 4, are the championships No. 3 seed.

Lee (Tenn.) is the NCCAA’s No. 1 overall seed, while Azusa Pacific’s old NAIA rival Union (Tenn.) is the No. 2 seed, setting up a potential rematch of the 2011 NAIA national title game in the second round. Azusa Pacific finished the regular season in second place in the Pacific West Conference (19-8, 16-4), and is making is sixth national tournament appearance in head coach T.J. Hardeman’s seven seasons.

Each of the 2014 NCCAA championship games will be broadcast by Tourbeau Sports Group, and the live stream can be accessed by clicking here.
