West, who earned her second straight All-GSAC honor as well, was named to third team becoming just the fifth Cougar to be named to one of the 3 All-American teams and the first since Jacqueline Godoy was named to the second team in 2002.
One of just 2 players to rank among the GSAC’s top 5 in scoring, rebounding and field goal percentage, West averaged 16.6 points and 8.0 rebounds in leading the Cougars, who finished just 11-21 last year, to a 20-12 mark this season and their sixth NAIA Tournament appearance.
She also shot 56.1% from the floor, which was ninth in the NAIA, and 73.7% from the free throw line as well as averaging 2.3 steals to rank among the conference leaders.
One of 6 GSAC players named All-American, West, who was one of 2 Cougars to start all 32 games, reached double-figures 26 times, including a stretch of 15 straight games from Dec. 15 to Feb. 10. She poured in a career-high 37 points vs. La Sierra, eclipsing the 30-point plateau 3 times and had 7 double-doubles, including a 15-point, 10-rebound performance in the Cougars’ loss to North Georgia State at the NAIA Tournament.
