  • Cougars Back On Winning TrackFeb. 20, 2007 | On a rare off night for GSAC Player of the Year candidate Monica Somers, the NAIA’s No. 12-ranked Azusa Pacific had 5 others step up to join Somers in double-figure scoring to lead the Cougars to an 88-70 victory over No. 24-ranked The Master’s Tuesday evening at the Felix Event Center.
  • No Second-Chance SurpriseFeb. 17, 2007 | The NAIA’s No. 12-ranked Azusa Pacific gave up 21 second-chance points to a Vanguard squad that grabbed 15 offensive rebounds, and the Cougars’ program-record 16-game home win streak came to an end in a 90-74 defeat in the rematch with the NAIA’s top-ranked Lions.
  • Leathers Shoots Down 3-Point RecordFeb. 13, 2007 | It only took Sarah Leathers 16 seconds into Azusa Pacific's GSAC contest with Fresno Pacific to set the Cougar career 3-point record, canning her 173rd career trey on the game's first play. Later in the first half, Alyssa Ferdaszewski became the 15th 1,000-point scorer in Azusa Pacific women's basketball history during the Cougars' 73-62 road win at Fresno Pacific.
  • History On Hold For NowFeb. 8, 2007 | The storyline for Azusa Pacific’s visit to San Diego Christian was supposed to include a career shooting record and the passing of the career 1,000-point milestone. Instead, the NAIA’s No. 13-ranked Cougars should consider themselves fortunate to have kept the Hawks winless in conference play after escaping with a 78-65 win Thursday evening.
  • It's Run and Fun for CougarsFeb. 6, 2007 | Azusa Pacific used its speed and quickness to build a double-digt lead in the blink of an eye and then run away from Hope International for an 89-71 Golden State Athletic Conference victory.
  • Same Old For SomersFeb. 3, 2007 | Senior guard Monica Somers poured in 25 points, her 12th 20-point game of the season, to lead the NAIA's No. 15-ranked Azusa Pacific to a 65-57 victory over a resilient Concordia team Saturday evening in Irvine. With the win, the Cougars have now won 16 of their last 17 games.
  • Another Monica MasterpieceJan. 30, 2007 | Monica Somers scored 11 points in a 74-second span and collected 30 of her game-high 32 points in the second half to lead the NAIA's No. 16-ranked Azusa Pacific to an 88-66 victory over No. 24-ranked Westmont Tuesday evening at the Felix Event Center. The Cougars, held scoreless for the game's first 6 and a half minutes and without a field goal through 7 and a half minutes, scored all 88 points in just over 33 minutes to finish the game.
  • It's A Somers ScorcherJan. 26, 2007 | Senior guard Monica Somers scored a career-high 42 points, the best individual scoring performance in a GSAC game in the last 5 years, to lead the NAIA's No. 16-ranked Azusa Pacific to its 14th win in the past 15 games, a 78-69 win over No. 11-ranked Point Loma Nazarene Friday evening at the Felix Event Center.
  • Second-Half Soarin'Jan. 23, 2007 | For close to 2 months, the NAIA’s No. 16-ranked Azusa Pacific has looked nearly unbeatable, winning 13 of its past 14 games. After a listless opening half in which it turned the ball over 14 times and did not shoot a single free throw, the Cougars made up for those lost 20 minutes with a high-flying second half to post a 74-59 road victory over Biola Tuesday evening at Chase Gymnasium.
  • Hit Me With Your Best ShotJan. 20, 2007 | Despite trailing by 11 points with less than 10 minutes to play and by 8 points in the last 6 minutes, the NAIA's No. 16-ranked Azusa Pacific stuck to its strength in the post, taking advantage of a double-doubles from Meliame Hala'ufia and Abby Johnson and a 60-38 rebounding edge to pull out an 83-78 win over the Lancers Saturday night at the Felix Event Center.
