2008 (sophomore): Returned to cross country after a 2-year hiatus and appeared in all 6 meets the Cougars competed in during the 2008 season ... Started the season strong as the third Cougar at the Aztec Invitational (26:37) and the fourth at the Stanford Invitational (26:24) ... Ran a career-best 8K of 26:17 to finish 44th overall (sixth among Cougars) at the Aquinas Invitational in Grand Rapids, Mich. ... Was 21st that GSAC Championships (26:39) and 165th at the NAIA Championships (26:37) in Kenosha, Wis.

2005 (freshman): Ran in 3 meets during his 2005 freshman season at Azusa Pacific, recording an 8K best of 28:29 at the GSAC Championships.

TRACK & FIELD: Has run 2 seasons of track & field at Azusa Pacific, first in 2006 as a freshman and then again in 2009 as a sophomore after taking a 2-year break from school ... At the 2009 GSAC Championships recorded career-best efforts to finish ninth in the 1500 (4:04.35) and 11th in the 5000 (15:52.77) ... Also ran a personal-record in the 800 (1:58.78) earlier in the season.

HIGH SCHOOL: Ran 4 seasons of cross country for head coach John Rouse at state power Maranatha High in Sierra Made, Calif. ... As a junior was the league champion and a key member of the Minutemen's 2003 California state division V cross country championship team ... As a senior earned All-CIF honors and helped lead Maranatha to a fourth-place finish at the state meet ... Also competed 4 seasons in track & field at Maranatha and was a league champion in the 800.

PERSONAL: Born June 7, 1987, in Beverly Hills, Calif. ... Parents are Vincent (horse trainer) and Scarlet (bank vice-president) Timphony ... Majoring in history with a minor in English ... Has spent a summer backpacking in Japan.
