2006: Put together a fine 2006 sophomore campaign in which he started all 10 games ... Was third on the team in tackles with 71 (22 solo), which included 11 for loss ... Also tallied 5.5 sacks ... Best showing came in the victory over Webber International, recording a season-high 13 tackles which included a pair of QB sacks ... Also had 11 tackles and a sack in a loss to eventual NCAA Division III runner-up Wisconsin-Whitewater ... Closed the season on a tear with 28 tackles, including 5 for loss and 3 sacks, over the final 3 games ... Named NAIA All-West Region third team by Football Gazette ... Also named NAIA All-American honorable mention by Victory Sports Network.

2005: Fashioned a fine first season as a 2005 freshman, starting all 10 games … Was third on the team in tackles (87), tackles for loss (10) and QB sacks (3.5) … Closed the season with his best effort, tallying a career-high 16 tackles (all assisted) in the NAIA playoff game vs. Montana Tech … Also had 15 tackles (3 solo) vs. Willamette and 11 tackles (6 solo) vs. Humboldt State … His efforts earned him NAIA All-West Region honorable mention by Football Gazette.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played 3 seasons of varsity football for Bruce Ingalls at Laguna Hills (Calif.) High ... Was a 3-time All-Sea View League pick and as a 2003 senior earned All-CIF first team recognition ... Helped lead the team to the CIF semis as a 2002 sophomore ... Also wrestled for 4 years, setting the school record for most pins in school history while earning All-Orange County ... Was also a CIF champ, Master’s Tournament runner-up and a state qualifier.

PERSONAL: Son of Tom and Kim Bengard ... Has 2 older brothers (Ryan, Tyler) and an older sister (Christianne).
