THIS YEAR: A terrific athlete, senior Mac Gebber is pushing for significant playing time among the Cougars’ linebacking corps ... Smart player who puts himself in position to make plays ... Quite active on the field and sells out his body.
2006: In his first season at Azusa Pacific as a 2006 junior, appeared in all 10 games, coming off the bench as a linebacker and on special teams ... Registered 24 tackles (8 solo) ... Best outing came against Humboldt State when he tallied a season-high 8 tackles ... Also had 5 tackles against Southern Oregon and Dixie State.
PUGET SOUND: Played 2 seasons at NCAA Division III member University of Puget Sound (Wash.) ... Started 17 games for the Loggers during his 2-year career, tallying 100 tackles and 6 interceptions (50 takedowns and 3 picks both seasons) ... As a 2005 sophomore had a season-high 11 tackles in a victory over Claremont-Mudd ... Had 2 interceptions against traditional power Pacific Lutheran, including 1 that led to a game-clinching TD in a 23-13 victory ... As a 2004 freshman, had 10 tackles in a victory over La Verne.
HIGH SCHOOL: Was a 3-sport standout at Brewster (Wash.) High ... Played 3 seasons of varsity football for head coach Ed Ashworth ... Played both quarterback and defensive back ... Was a 2-time All-Caribou Trail League pick as a defensive back ... As a 2002 senior named league offensive MVP... Also earned all-state first team recognition as a defensive back ... Played 4 seasons of varsity basketball, helping lead the Bears to the 2003 state championship ... Twice named all-state tournament second team ...
