THIS YEAR: Senior Curtis Smith is a good athlete who after a year in the Cougar system figures to a key player in the Cougar secondary Strong for his size ... May push for starting duties.
2006: Returned to football after a year layoff and appeared in 4 games during his 2006 season at Azusa Pacific ... Made 2 tackles, both solo, in the Cougars victory over Webber International ... Saw time on the special teams unit.
JUNIOR COLLEGE: Played 2 seasons of football at state juco power Mt. SAC in Walnut, Calif., playing for head coach Bill Fisk Came off the bench in 7 games during his 2-year career with the Mounties Best showing came against Moorpark as a 2004 sophomore when he had 2 tackles and returned an interception 40 yards for a TD Missed much of the season with an injury Greyshirted the 2002 season at Mt. SAC.
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Rowland High in Rowland Heights, Calif. Picked up a football for the first time as a 2000 junior, appearing in the final 2 games that season Played in all 10 games as a 2001 senior, starting 5 at cornerback.
PERSONAL: Born Alton Curtis Smith III on Nov. 28, 1984, in San Gabriel, Calif., to Alton (computer technician) and Darlene (pre-school teacher) Smith Has 3 sisters (LaKiesha, LaShonda, Camille) Majoring in business ... Wants to go into real estate after graduation.
