HIGH SCHOOL: A 2-sport standout at Pioneer High in San Jose, Calif., earned honors in both football and baseball (outfielder) ... In football rushed for 1,546 yards on 184 carries (8.4 avg.) with 28 TDs in his 19-game varsity career with the Pioneers ... As a 2008 senior, named All-CIF Central Coast Section second team, all-league first team and team MVP after rushing for 1,453 yards and 29 TDs in 11 games ... Also had 1 receiving 1 TD ... Registered 7 100-yard rushing games which included a career-high 187-yard effort on 21 carries in a victory over Aragon High ... Registered 175 yards and 5 TDs in another win over Aragon in the CIF Central Coast Section playoffs ... Also caught 17 passes for 276 yards with another TD ... Led the Mustangs to a 10-2 record ... As a 2007 junior rushed for 221 yards on 31 carries (7.1 avg.) with 1 TD as a back-up to current Cougar Shane Murray ... In baseball, was named all-league first team and team MVP as a senior after batting a team-high .406 with 23 runs and 14 doubles in 21 games
