MONTANA STATE: Redshirted his 2007 freshman season at NCAA FCS Montana State University in Bozeman, Mont.

HIGH SCHOOL: Was a terrific athlete at Big Pine (Calif.) High, located in the eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains ... Was a 4-year varsity letterman in 8-man football as both a running back and linebacker ... Was a 2-time All-CIF and 3-time All-Hi-Lo League selections ... As a 2006 senior, was the CIF Division II Defensive Player of the Year and league MVP after averaging 17 tackles a game to go along with 1,420 rushing yards on 165 carries while scoring 17 TDs ... Also had 30 receptions for 633 yards and 10 TD catches for the 10-1Warriors ... As a 2005 junior, rushed for 1,268 yards on just 93 carries (13.6 avg.), which included a 206-yard performance on just 9 carries in a 69-15 victory over Lee Vining High ... As a 2004 sophomore was named team offensive MVP after rushing for 809 yards and 12 TDs for the 8-1 Warriors, and as a 2003 freshman he was voted the team’s best offensive rookie ... Played for his cousin and head coach Mark Tillemans ... Was a 2-time All-Hi-Lo League pick in basketball (forward) and a 2-time all-league pick as well in baseball (pitcher/shortstop) ... Graduated in 2007 as class valedictorian ... Served as class president as a senior and junior.
