THIS YEAR: A bigger, stronger Mike Trabbie returns to the Cougars after sitting out the 2007 season to pursuit a career in fire control ... Will transition to tight end after practicing at linebacker his freshman season.

2006: Redshirted his first season at Azusa Pacific, practicing with the Cougars while attending classes.

HIGH SCHOOL: Was a 3-sport standout at Ontario (Calif.) Christian High ... Played 3 seasons of varsity football for head coach Chris Stevens ... Was a key player in the Knights advancing to the CIF championship game in 2004 and 2005 ... Was a 3-time All-Christian League selection, including first team recognition as a junior and senior ... Was also a 2-time All-CIF first team pick and earned All-Inland Valley as a 2005 senior when he tallied 1,051 all-purpose yards while guiding the Knights to an 11-3 record ... Set the school career records for receptions (80), receiving yards (1,399), and touchdown receptions (19) ... Also set school single-season records for receptions (46), receiving yards (775) and touchdown receptions (10) ... Led the Knights to a 3-year record of 34-7 ... As a linebacker, recorded 130 tackles (58 solo) and 4 interceptions for his career ... Was a 4-year starter in baseball, earning All-Christian League honors as a shortstop for his junior and senior seasons ... Earned All-CIF as a senior when he batted .391 with 9 doubles, 3 home runs and 28 RBIs ... Also lettered 2 seasons in soccer.

PERSONAL: Born June 9, 1988, in Pasadena, Calif. Parents are Tony (fire chief) and Pam (bookkeeper) Trabbie ... Has an older brother (Tony) ... Enjoys camping and fishing ... His mom played volleyball at Pasadena City College.
