THIS YEAR: An excellent cornerback, senior Cameron Tucker is a 3-year starter who may push for postseason honors … Has good speed and is rated a good coverage player … Very smart about the game ... Has started all 33 games he has played at Azusa Pacific and collected 9 interceptions.

2006: Started all 1- games, recording 36 tackles (21) solo, including 3 for loss ... Collected a team-high 4 interceptions and 9 pass deflections ... Collected an interception in 3 of the Cougars’ first 4 games ... Against Wisconsin-LaCrosse had 5 tackles, 2 pass deflections, and a pick that he returned 16 yards ... Registered a season-high 6 tackles vs. Southern Nazarene.

2005: Started all 9 games he played in, missing the Sacramento state contest with an injury … Was sixth on the team in tackles with 59 (30 solo) … Best game came against NAIA national champ Carroll in which he tallied a career-high 10 tackles (6 solo) … Also registered 9tackles vs. Southern Oregon and Valley City State.

2004: Started all 14 games as a redshirt freshman, tallying 45 tackles to go along with a team-high 5 interceptions … Had a season-high 5 tackles in 4 different games, including his debut as a Cougar vs. San Diego … Best showing came against Valley City State in which he had 4 tackles (all solo) and 2 interceptions, including one that returned 15 yards for a TD and a 24-0 Cougar lead 10 minutes into the game … Against Chapman, had 4 tackles, an interception that led to a Cougar TD, and completed a 41-yard pass to Jeremy Lugbill on a fake-punt play that led to a Cougar FG … Led the team with 10 pass deflections.

WILLAMETTE: Spent his 2003 freshman campaign at Willamette University in Salem, Ore., where he redshirted the Bearcats’ 7-3 season … Spent 1 semester at Willamette before transferring to Azusa Pacific for the spring of 2004. TRACK & FIELD: Walked on to Azusa Pacific’s national powerhouse track & field program and qualified for the NAIA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the high hurdles … Advanced to the semis of the 110-meter high hurdles at the outdoor championships in Louisville, Ky. … Had season bests of 7.93 (55-meter hurdles) and 14.82 (110-meter highs) … Finished third in the Golden State Athletic Conference meet in both the 110 and 400 hurdle races.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played 3 seasons of varsity football for head coach John Martin at Rowland High in Rowland Heights, Calif. … As a 2002 senior was named team MVP after winning All-San Antonio League first team and All-San Gabriel Valley second team honors as both a defensive back and wide receiver … In track & field, was named the San Antonio League MVP, winning the league title in the 110-meter hurdles (14.62) as a senior and finishing second in the 300 hurdles … Also played 3 seasons of basketball and as a senior earned all- league second team and defensive team MVP recognition for the 23-7 Raiders who were coached by former Cougar Gordon Hamlow.
