HIGH SCHOOL: Was a 2 sport athlete at Yreka (Calif.) Union High where he played 3 seasons each of varsity football and basketball ... Led the Northern Area League (NAL) with 170 season tackles as a 2007 senior to break the Miner single-season record ... Also broke the Miner career record with 439 tackles ... Named All-CIF Northern Section and All-NAL first team as a 2007 senior ... Served as a captain for 2 years each for football and basketball.

PERSONAL: Born April 30, 1990 in Walnut Creek, Calif. ... Parents are Dan and Janine Turner (both teachers) ... Has 2 brothers (Jesse, Jake) and 3 sisters (Crystal, Jaqueline, Jenna) ... Majoring in psychology ... Would like to be a counselor and coach after graduation ... Enjoys the beach.
