HELENA, Mont. -- Azusa Pacific football left Friday morning for Helena, Mont., to prepare for Saturday's 2009 season-opener against the NAIA's No. 2-ranked Carroll College.

The Cougars' charter flight took off from the Long Beach Airport at 10:45 a.m. and 2 hours later they were in Helena. They conducted a late-afternoon workout within the shadows of Carroll's Nelson Stadium and retired to their hotel for a pasta dinner with family and friends traveling with the team.

Azusa Pacific is making its third trip to Carroll in the past 5 years. The forecast for Saturday's game calles for partly cloudly skies with temperatures in the mid-80s.
