AZUSA, Calif. -- Junior tailback Terrell Watson and sophomore kicker Jamie Cacciatore were honored for their performance in Saturday's 36-20 road win at Dixie State with Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors.

Watson, the GNAC Offensive Player of the Week, scored on his second carry of the game, dashing 54 yards into the end zone and into the Azusa Pacific record books as the eighth Cougar with 2,000 career rushing yards. Watson now ranks seventh on Azusa’s all-time rushing list after carrying 17 times for 165 yards, boosting his career total to 2,130 yards just two games into his third season.

Cacciatore booted a 52-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter, pushing the Azusa Pacific lead to 36-7, and he also drilled a 49-yarder that was wiped off the board due to a penalty. His career-best 52-yarder was two yards shy of the GNAC field goal record of 54 yards, set in 2001 by Western Washington’s Michael Koenen, and it was the 11th 50-yard field goal in conference history.

Senior defensive end Matt Moody earned honorable mention on defense after he tallied two of the Cougars' five sacks of Dixie State quarterbacks.

The victory was the 5th consecutive GNAC win for the Cougars, who wrapped up the 2012 season with four straight victories.
