Cougars Host Football Camp

Mon., May 16, 2005
AZUSA, Calif. -- NAIA college football power Azusa Pacific University will host the fourth annual Camp of Champs June 27-30 on the university campus in Azusa, Calif.

Operated by the Cougar football coaching staff and players, the Camp of Champs has become quite popular in the San Gabriel Valley and not just for the skills development program but also for the camp’s character growth element.

“We believe that quality character and sportsmanship for those who play football is just as important as physical ability to play the game,” said camp director and Azusa Pacific assistant coach Victor Santa Cruz.

The Camp of Champs is open to any child who will be entering grades fourth through ninth in the fall of 2005. Cost is $115 per camper or $95 if registration and payment are received prior to May 20.

The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Thursday, of June 27-30. The registration cost includes a lunch that will be provided for each camper every day along with a t-shirt and certificate.
