AZUSA, Calif. -- The 2004 Cougar football season is destined to be one of the most unique and exciting seasons in Azusa Pacific history. Not only are the Cougars sporting their first-ever 11-game schedule, playing in 5 different states, but the university is also commemorating 40 years of Cougar football.

In so doing, from among the more than 1,000 student-athletes who have played football for Azusa Pacific, the university will honor the 40 greatest Cougar gridiron players as selected by students, alumni, faculty, staff and fans of Azusa Pacific football. Voting for the team is open now and will continue through the first week of October. Then during pre-game ceremonies of the November 6 Homecoming game vs. Crown College, those 40 Cougar greats will be recognized for their play through the decades.
